This project realizes a SAP-GIS integration by an user front-end deployed on a PocketPC platform. The scenario considers, a real use-case: an agent of a company located in Rome which deals products for hotels, goes, for the first time, to Catania. To plan his business trip he needs to know the hotels location in the city. When the agent arrives in Catania, he can visualize on his Pocket PC, the city map and hotels location and specific details.
When the agent selects on the map one of the hotels which are visualized as "clients", a web page first gathers data from SAP, and thus it shows hotel information giving the possibility, by the "orders" button, to visualize on going orders for this hotel.
Clicking on the orders button, are shown on going orders.
Single order details, are shown if required.

Architecture

This integration has been realized with:

• SAP/R3 4.6c
• Autodesk Mapguide 6.1
• Autodesk OnSite 2

Mapguide server and SAP interact utilizing XML language. OnSite allows to create dinamic maps, reachable by the Internet and browsable off-line. Each map element is joined a SAP record which contains customer details and orders.
