IRAP in
this context is the right tool for the creation of scenarios
for the assessment of effects caused by industrial accidents
in the population of neighboring zones. The concept of IRAP
allows to reduce considerably the time for the definition
of the scenarios - days instead of months - with evident savings
of time and manpower.
IRAP
enables even less experienced users to set up significant
projects on industrial risk assessment in a straightforward
and efficient way. The compatibility of IRAP with actually
issued regulations and recommendations by EPA (..) make sure
that risk assessment is in agreement with the state of the
art.
With this system industrial
risk is calculated accounting for:
- the significant sources and types
of sources of impact
- the substances to deal with
- the sites concerned by environmental
impact of industrial activity
The possibility to import data in various formats makes IRAP
a very versatile tool. Particularly useful is the option to
import ISCT3 plotfiles with the essential numbers concerning
the spatial distribution of effects and risk values.
IRAP
finally produces:
- a graphical representation of the
area of interest
- analyses of the various scenarios
of the different sources
- a sequence of reports on risk values,
forming the base for any purpose of planning
This way IRAP
allows:
- to have an immediate answer to questions
like "how does risk vary changing values or sites taken
in consideration ?"
- to compute risk values either using
default parameters or adjusted ones (which are probably
closer to the reality of the sites)
- to have immediately values which
can be directly use for scopes of planning

Together with IRAP
Mestor offers the additional solutions:
- ISC View
a model for the dispersion of toxic
gas clouds in the atmosphere
- SLAB
View determination
of the zones at risk and assessment of impact of accidental
gas evaporations
- RPM
View creation
of air pollution risk maps
