MESTOR professionals have acquired a considerable experience during years of scientific activity in Germany and in Italy using innovative techniques (Artificial Neural Network, Fuzzy Logic, Simulated Annealing, Genetic Algorithms) in the inversion and in the classification of large amount of geophysical data as well in data mining techniques and in GIS applications. In this context members of MESTOR staffs have co-operated in EU projects ETNATECH and TEKVOLC. In appointment of the Italian Civil Protection MESTOR experts have been working as managers of the EU project TITAN (IA 1011[EN]).
MESTOR is also performing as subcontractor in the EU project ODIN (IST-1999-10498), developing a platform that enable mobile users to access GIS-based information through PDAs and GPRS (and further on UMTS) wireless communication capabilities.
MESTOR was recently selected as first Italian firm over a pull of 20.000 overseas candidates for the Tokyo Techno Business Forum ’99, an international forum focused on High-tech products developed all-over the world, with a software for the estimation of earthquakes effects in urban areas.
MESTOR knowledge in the field of Remote Sensing applications and GIS has made the company as one of the few in Southern Italy that can count ESA (European Space Agency) among its customers.
